How does the Waitlist work?
If an event is full, you can get on the Waitlist. Here is all the information you'll need to navigate your Waitlist experience successfully!
If the event you are wanting to register for is full, you can get on the Waitlist! There are a few things you should know about Waitlist spots that are different from typical registrations:
- Waitlist deposits are $80 per spot, just like the first deposit you would pay for on-campus spots.
- Unlike on-campus registrations, your $80 Waitlist deposits are fully refundable. So there is no financial exposure to being on the Waitlist. We request a deposit to keep the Waitlists manageable and clean.
- If you register for the Waitlist for one event and also reserve on-campus spots in another event as a backup plan, you must pay the deposits for both the on-campus event and the Waitlist spots.
- On-campus registrations require additional payments as we approach the event. Waitlist registrations do not require the payment of the second deposit (due March 1) or the final payment (due 21 days before your event) until your spots are guaranteed in the event.
Waitlist spots are moved into the event in the order we receive the registrations. If space becomes available at your event, we will move your Waitlist spots into the event and notify you of the change. If you no longer need the spot(s) you were awarded, just let us know within 1 business day and we will refund the deposit(s).
You may contact us at any time to inquire about your status on the Waitlist, but the heaviest volume of dropped spots we will process happens either near the March 1 deadline or when the final payment is due 21 days before the event.
If you do choose to register for more than one event (most often Waitlist spots at one event and a back-up option at another event), you must inform CIY at the March 1 deadline which event you are going to keep and which you are going to consolidate.
